Job opportunities / Postdoctoral Fellow in Microbial Metabolomics and Natural Products Chemistry

Summary
A 2 years position is available for an independent and highly motivated individual to work as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow associated to the Research Grant “New approach for the discovery of microbial compounds inducing the biosynthesis of novel antibiotics in actinomycetes”  from the ‘Consejería de Conocimiento, Investigación y Universidad de la Junta de Andalucía’. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team working in the field and will be responsible for analytical chemistry, metabolomics/chemometrics and isolation/structure elucidation tasks involved in the project.

Requirements
-   a PhD, preferably in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or Biology, with a good publication record related to the field of the project.
-   Proven expertise in metabolomics and chemometrics employing multivariate statistical analysis over LC-MS or NMR data. Additional experience on MS/MS-based molecular networking will be considered positively.
-   Experience on analytical liquid chromatography hyphenated with low- and high-resolution mass spectrometry. Additional experience on NMR spectroscopy will be considered positively.
-   Experience on natural products isolation and structural elucidation by spectroscopic techniques.
-   Programming and chemoinformatics skills are desirable.
-   Ability to work independently on its own initiative and in a team environment.
-   Evidence of independent writing of reports and papers.
-   Excellent communication skills in English are expected for effective interaction with our multidisciplinary research team and with collaborators.
