Data colection parameter

Hi everyone!

I'm a little confused by the tutorial's description for the "mass accuracy (centroid parameter)" parameter for MS1 and MS2 in the tab "Data Collection". It says MSDial perfoms spectral centroiding but what if I already selected centroided data in the project set-up? If I put only centroided data into MSDial does this parameter setting even matter?

Hi Nolweth,

the centroid ms1 parameter is also used to construct EIC chromatogram which is used for ion quantification.
If you set 0.01 Da for this, the EIC of e.g. m/z 200.000 is constructed by summing ions from 199.99 until 200.01.
